Where does Wine + Peace ship?
Wine + Peace ships to all U.S. states, expecting those that do not permit direct out-of-state wine shipping (AL, KY, MS, and UT). However, availability of certain products may vary depending on where your order is being shipped. This is because all purchases are made directly from the individual wineries, and thus are subject to their permitting. And while many of our wineries are likely to be licensed to ship to your state, some may not be. So please don’t forget to enter your zip code as you navigate the site to find out which wines are currently available to you.
Can I still purchase wine on the site if I live in a state or county where direct wine shipments are not permitted?
Heck yeah! Just have your shipment sent to an address in a legal state or zip code. This could be a commercial address or the home address of a friend or family member. All you have to do is return to our homepage and enter this new zip code and go to town 🙂.
What if only a limited selection of wines are available in my area?
Hang tight! We are working hard to help each of our wineries expand into every state where direct sales are presently allowed. So if a particular wine isn’t available to you now, please check back soon, as this will likely change. Additionally, we are onboarding new wineries all the time, so you can expect the selection of wines available to you to continue to expand and improve.
Why 3 bottle minimum order?
Our three-bottle policy is a reflection of our mission to build a more sustainable and inclusive future for American wine. Firstly, based on our criteria, it’s simply not environmentally responsible to be trucking individual bottles across the country. Secondly, in the spirit of inclusivity, we are committed to offering the most affordable shipping rates we possibly can — and when it comes to orders with fewer than three bottles, the numbers simply don’t add up. Thirdly, there’s just something sexy about three bottles of wine. Can we get a what what?
How much does shipping cost?
For us, making wine accessible means making shipping affordable. That’s why we offer discounted ground shipping on every single order placed through our site. The most you will ever pay for ground shipping on our platform is $15, which is our default shipping rate on any order under 6 bottles. This goes for any combination of wines or producers, no matter where you are in the continental US. When you order 6 bottles or more you will pay $0 for ground shipping (full stop). Yay for wine!
How long will it take to receive my order?
All orders are fulfilled within 2-3 business days, and the average overall weight time from order to delivery is 1 week (varies based on your location and weather). We keep a very close eye on climate, monitoring hot zones (both at your location and along the route), so that we can hold the delivery or adjust shipping methods if necessary. Even though we work with wineries of all shapes and sizes, we have streamlined the process so that you can count on your wine arriving safely and efficiently, and we promise to keep in touch with you every step of the way to provide updates and delivery information.
Orders are typically shipped within 2 to 3 days and are delivered within 1 week from the time of purchase. However, transit times vary based on your location and weather. For example, in the event of a heat wave or cold front we may choose a slower, but safer shipping method in order to avoid wine damage. In these instances of extreme weather your order will likely take 2 weeks to be delivered. In a hurry? Select one of our express shipping options (like two-day or next-day air) during checkout.
No matter what, we will be in touch every step of the way to provide updates, delivery information and tracking numbers!
Do I have to be at least 21 to receive my wine?
Yes. Someone who is at least 21 years old must be available to sign for each shipment. When providing us with a shipping address please take this into account, as all packages are labeled as containing wine and legally require an in-person signature. Carriers will not leave packages unattended even if they have a signature on file.
With this in mind, most shipping providers offer the option to turn on SMS delivery updates. Don’t forget to select this option on the shipping provider’s site once you have received your tracking number in order to follow your package’s progress!
Should I ship to my home, work address, or FedEx office?
Since someone who is 21 or older must be available to sign for the delivery, we have a handful of shipping solutions that we highly recommend to help give you the best shipping experience!
Business Address
Under normal circumstances, it’s best to use a business address whenever possible. However, if you’re working from home these days, your home address is the way to go.
Apartment Office/Doorman
If you live in an apartment building with a leasing manager, you might also want to check with them to see if they are available to sign.
Ask a Friend
You may also consider shipping to a friend or neighbor who is generally available to sign for packages.
How can I track my order once it ships?
Once your order has been processed and shipped, our fulfillment partner will send you an email with your tracking number.
Please allow up to 48 hours for your tracking number to begin sharing updates (your package’s current location, estimated delivery date, next delivery attempt date, etc.)
Most shipping providers offer the option to turn on SMS delivery updates. Don’t forget to select this option on the shipping provider’s site once you have received your tracking number in order to follow your package’s progress!
I just realized I made a mistake when placing my order. Can I update it?
Depending on the status of your shipment, this is a possibility!
Our fulfillment partner will be emailing you shipping notifications with subject headings like “Your package is in transit” or “Shipped notification.” Within these emails, you will be provided a link to change your shipping address. Keep in mind that additional costs may be incurred.
If you have any questions about this or cannot locate that option in the email, please do not hesitate to email info@wineandpeace.com with “Change My Order” and your order number in the subject line, and include a clear description of what needs to be changed and we will promptly help to solve the issue.

What is Wine + Peace?
We are a highly curated marketplace that lets you buy wine directly from the best small producers in the country. We believe that the industry isn’t built to serve independent wineries and the consumers wanting to drink the best wine. So Wine + Peace flips the script. Instead of buying wine from distributors like everyone else (which means markups and the same old wines) we partner with the small and passionate producers across the U.S. to bring you wine directly from the people who make it. By cutting out the middlemen, we allow wineries to boost their profits, while offering you exciting wines that you can’t find anywhere else.
How do you decide what products to feature on Wine + Peace?
We exist to support small producers across the U.S. who are working responsibly and making delicious wines. Inherent to this mission is a quality-over-quantity approach, a revolt against the information overload of the traditional buying experience in which the good stuff is lost in a sea of mediocre. To select our wines, our team asks a few basic, but all-important questions — Is it delicious? Is it worth the price? Is it distinct? We drink and discuss these wines at length and in a fun and relaxed manner, the way we believe they are meant to be enjoyed.
Then comes the more challenging (and rewarding) part. We dig deeper to explore what drives our winemakers — how do they work, what do they stand for. Are their values aligned with our own? We only work with producers who are considering the impact of their decisions on the environment and their communities.
For more details, check out our Values Policy, which each winemaker must agree to before joining our platform.
