Production Notes
The fruit for this Chardonnay is sourced from Johan Vineyard, an iconic Biodynamic property located in the center of the wind tunnel that is the Willamette’s newly created Van Duzer Corridor AVA. Kate and Tom ferment and age the wine in a mix of new and neutral French oak.
Winemakers and entrepreneurs Kate Norris and Tom Monroe are the power-duo behind one of our favorite wineries in Portland — or anywhere for that matter. Determined to make approachable, low-intervention wines, the pair founded Division Wine Co. in 2010, and have spent the last decade making pitch-perfect wines that are almost too good to be true (like their mind-boggling “Un” bottlings, which out-drink almost anything). Today, Division works with countless organic, biodynamic, and LIVE-certified vineyards across the state, including in the Columbia Gorge and the Applegate Valley. But maybe most exciting of all: Kate and Tom are helping to pioneer a new, more equitable Willamette Valley in which Pinot Noir is not the only game in town.
